THEY ARE EVERYWHERE !!

Unbeknownst to me and Mr. Orangie
life does continue on
whether fast forward or slow and methodical

This swoop of birds narrowly misses us
as we walk the beach this time of year.

They really have no fear of us
because I suspect they know we come in peace.

Landing far enough away
affords them time to snatch up morsels.
Those things that are always here in the autumn months.

We were presented with an array of birds the other morning
zipping around above
catching flies that kept bumping into us.

I swam while Jim took photos of all the birds.

Even this seagull was interested in the excitement
and hovered over us from time to time.

On the ground the waves would sneak up on the birds
making them hop and jump all over the rocks.
Their minds were still on those edibles.

Far off over the lake
you can see more birds
knowing that this place is a goldmine!

Jim always finds his serenity along the edge of the shoreline,

while I body-surf with the birds
focusing on my nemesis, Mr. Orangie.
So whether pacing slowly or fast like a dart,
our world always gives us what we need
~~
PEACE OF MIND & BODY

AT PEACE IN SO MANY WAYS

Sitting peacefully along with 12 other seagulls
at Point Pleasant Park one day last week
this capture says it all
~ how solemn, relaxed and serene ~
it made me feel
after my sojourn through the trails

I saw this fellow
high, so very high
up in the air
relaxed bending over the edge of the structure
without a care of falling.
How can some people manage this
while I would be glued tight to my guys legs.

The art of riding a bicycle
nothing like it
Your body, mind and soul
fall into line
and
the 2 wheels draw you along.

I guess using your imagination
helps tremendously
when you come across situations like these.
Just by letting your fingers to the walking ~~
as the old advert says
and
a new peaceful world will open up to you and yours.

Smile everyone ~
Your on my DOODLE Candid Camera!

LOST IN MY SENSES!

Seriously, I am a DOODLE
with a MULTI-DOODLE SNIFFER!
I become entranced
so zoned
so zenned
that I can't break away.
I am at one with my nose
and
it is at one with me.

There now
Inhale ~ Exhale
I feel whole again.
Focused
Clear headed
Clear nosed
and
ready for the next discovery.
Maybe it'll be edible
One can only hope.
Right?
Right!

STRONG WINDS

Strong south west winds have been pummeling the province all day
which means the para-surfers are in heaven.

Far below MacDonald House,

as these two onlookers had been veiwing

you'll find Jim clicking like crazy

for the latte sea
caused by
the super fine salt sea mist,
relentless winds
and
pending sunset

keep my ears and toes alert
ready for a fast dash to the car

(this will give you an idea ~ apologies for the wind sound)

Such is my life after a rain and wind storm
which dropped a month's worth of rain ~
almost like a hit and run!
Like in "Straight Up"
sung by Paula Abdul.

couldn't resist this connection folks!!!

I'VE RETURNED!!!

It's Friday and it's the much anticipated return to my
SUPER DOODLE DAYCARE
high on the hill
above the fields and ocean.

Hey Mary!
Do you want to dance?
I bet you haven't danced all summer.
Fox Trot ~ Rumba ~ Jive
You choose and I'll fall into line.
Oh a "line dance" !
Right on!

This is my home away from home.
Me, likey !!

Fields ~ plenty of fences and tall green grass to eat and roll in.
AAaahhhhh!!

My monster friend is here.
Been waiting all summer too.
I know my place around this giant.

and above all the ocean beckons,
maybe I'll play Mr. Orangie
down on the beach.
Haven't forgotten how to do that,
since I practice everyday!

Let's get this show on the road!!

CASHMERE GREY ~ RYTHM & CERULEAN BLUES ~ DEEP MANDARIN ORANGE

My day!
My sandy, driftwoody, bouldery
24 hours on the beach ~

run the colour spectrum
from soft muteds to rich exuberants

Right now I'm helping my new friend
who just happens to be ruddy red
offsetting the soft greys of the ocean and sky

the titch of baby blue streaks across in the distance
as the lone surfer waits patiently
(oh my they do have patience)

swooping past like aerial artistes
these birds dive-bomb
looking for insects
before heading south

Then from out of nowhere
the blues
grab your attention and draw you in even further.

 More birds clamour for position
with lift off and landing gears
ready at any moment.

My life on the beach erupts into more JOY
than I could ever imagine

as the vibrancy of reds and oranges
reflect Mr. Orangie,
making it so much easier to see him
and to zero point snag him
once again.

I trot towards the sun
expecting but a brief moment of
"Ooohs and Aaaahs"
from the onlookers.

"Come on along!"
This is one of those times
that you can feel the colours
feel them coursing through your veins.

Thanks so again for putting up
with my DOODLE NONSENSE.
It does take plenty of us to make the world go 'round.

MY CIRCLE GAME

My Circle Game
has gone
7 1/2 times around the seasons ~~

climbing hills and walking trails
so familiar
and
serene

leaping joyfully
when Jim joins us
after shop time

and standing stalwartly
staring off into the western skies.

Listening to Tom Rush's version of The Circle Game

always puts me in a pensive
and
oh so calming mood

the thing though
that I know so very deeply
 is
 the security
and
the love
I have from my guys!

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS SUPER MOON #3 ?

Everyone has been talking about
SUPER MOON #3
so we set out to find this anomaly.

Look it isn't over there in Halifax,
I just see 2 bridges and high-rises.

Maybe it's down on the boardwalk in Eastern Passage

All these peeps seem to be throwing fish lines
out into the water trying to hook
the SUPER MOON #3
(they better watch out because
those 2 big huge orbs above them called bokeh
just might flatten them, I think.)
Do you think those are moons?

Far out into the still water
even Mr. Orangie wasn't able to help me,

it didn't matter how many times Jim threw him out there
No, SUPER MOON #3 was appearing.

I really think the fishers thought that their lines could catch the moon.

Even this zippy speed boat slipped by
and they said they couldn't find
SUPER MOON #3 either.
(Look behind you!)

So we decided to leave The Passage
and all my new friends
 heading to Cow Bay
about a 15 minutes drive down the shoreline.

These birds were congregating on mass
over the water descending to the calmness and rocks below.
Do you see something faintly on the horizon?

Oh yes you do because I sure can!

SUPER MOON #3
being crushed by Jim.
He has awful big fingers to be able to do that,
don't you think?

The bay was absolutely still
as the moon slowly rose into our view.

Then this fellow appeared and stroked effortlessly across the bay
which is the ocean for those who may think this is a lake.
It ain't.

He had the entire place to himself.
He zenned on the water
unbeknownst to us
zenning on the shoreline
finally discovering our
SUPER MOON #3.
